Stalin's Satellite States

Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia: Sometimes referred to as the 'Baltic States' were conquered by the Soviet Union in 1940 and were treated as part of the Soviet Union.

Czechoslovakia: 1919-88, the only democracy in eatern europe. After the war people tried to restore to pre-war democracy and Stalin felt threatened.

Yugoslavia and Albania: These were satellite states but were never occupied by the red army…
