APC- Antigen presenting cell
- Macrophages that display ‘non-self’ peptides (foreign protein)
- Start as phagocyte that engulfs bacteria or virus
- Breaks it down and presents foreign antigen on cell membrane
- Bind with T-helper cells with complementary CD4 receptors
- APC can also come from B-Cells by binding with a specific pathogen or from infected cells presenting antigens on cell surface
