Specific Heat Capacity amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1Kg of a substance by 1 degree celsius.

Aluminium Block Practical

Equipment:

  • 1Kg Aluminium Block
  • Power Pack
  • Voltmeter
  • Ammeter
  • Stopwatch
  • Thermometer
  • 5 Wires
  • Heater

1. Place a heater in the larger hole in the block. Connect the ammeter, power pack and heater in series.

2. Connect the voltmeter across the power pack.

3.Put a small amount of water in the other hole using the pipette. 5. Put the thermometer in this hole.

4.Record the ammeter
