Operating systems
Operating systems is when a core softeware control the computer.it helps the computer to be organised to run properly
It manges the:
- Hardware
- GUI( Graphical user interface)
- Memory (RAM/ROM)
- Other softwares installed
There are many operating sytems such as:
- Symbian, Android - for mobile phones Unix - for mainframes
- MacOS - for Macs
- Windows or Linux - for personal computers
There are different types of opertaing such a
- Single user,single application-This type of operating system only has to deal with one person at a time, running one user application at a time.
- Single user, multi-tasking-The difference compared to the Single-Use, Single Application operating system is that it must now handle many different applications all running at the same time.
- Multi-user, multi-tasking operating system- a mainframe or supercomputer is required for this kind of work they need to be able to allow more than one person acess it and they should be able to use many application.
