Secondary Sources are sources produced by other people and organisations for their own purposes but can be used by the sociologist for a research

  • Official Documents usually quantitative but can be quantified by analysing the documents' content and recording the most frequently occuring ideas.
  • For instance, the Ofsted reports
  • Official documents are collected and compiled by trained staff so they are the least intrusive
  • Used by government for formulating policies
