Functionalists believe that schools adequatly teach the skills needed for the modern work place.
- Marxists
Marxists believe that schools reinforce the class system by teaching middle class children the skills needed for low paying jobs and middle class children the skills needed for high paying jobs.
- Feminism
Feminists belive that schools reinforce patriarchy by teaching women the skills needed for low paying jobs and for unpaid work in the home.
- Anti-Racist
Anti-Racists belive that school reinforces the power of the ethnic majority by teaching minorities the skills needed for low paying jobs and ethnic majorities the skills needed for high paying jobs.
