Social attitudes during Thatcher

·         Social attitudes.

·         She did not believe that social responsibility was a group or national matter, but that it should be left up to the individual.

·         She even stated that ‘there’s no such thing as society’. Some saw this as a lack of compassion

·         . She stated that it is our duty to look after ourselves and then our neighbour.

·         She wanted to emphasise self reliance.

·         Not an awful lot of what she introduced was replaced after her fall, whether by the next Conservative government,
