Obedience is when someone follows the orders of someone whos precieved to have an higher authority figure.

AIM: To investigate obedience to authoirty.

METHOD:

- The experiment took place at Yale University and tested ordinary Americans from all types of backgrounds.

- 40 male volunteers were told they were taking part in a study on the role of punishment on learning (lie).

- Participants had the role of 'teacher' and a confderate of the researcher was the 'learner'.

- The teacher tested the learner on there ability to remember the word pairs.
