Social Class and other social factors
- 1960s 80% voted to their social class
- Upper and middle mostly conservative, lower usually labour
- in 2017 59% of lower class voted labour
- in 1964 78% of upper class voted conservative
- However in 2017 upper class has declined to 43%
- Lower class used to be 64% in 1964
- Younger tend to vote labour, 67% of 18-24 in 2017
- Older tend to vote conservative, 65+ 59% tory
- Ethnic minorities tend to vote more labour, 65% in 2917
- However support for tories is growing among BME. 7% increase between 2010 and 2015
