Introduction
- stereotype - widely shared evaulative image of social group
- prejudice - unfavourable attitude to social group
- discrimination - behaviour or actions to individual or groups, usually negative
Stereotypes
- 'fixed, overgeneralised belief about a particular group or class of people'
- advantage is it enables us to respond to rapidly to situations because of similar situations before
- but it makes us ignore individual differences, so we make generalisations
