Treatment of workers under Lenin

  • Considered workers to be 'uncultured' and the Party was seen to have lost touch with the needs of the workers
  • Living and working conditions in the cities were appalling and workers experienced low wages, food shortages and bad sanitation
  • Under War Communism, incentives were given to workers to encourage high labour productivity
