PI: parent invests in individual offspring to increase chances of surviving, altho may b  at cost of other offspring

 **Maternal investment
      - F can produce limited no of offspring
      - more costly as can produce offspring every 9 months
      - invest more- therefore more selective
     - invest more into rearing of offspring- baby is dependant on mother before & after birth
     - extremely focused about male's emotional focus/risk of losing resources
