Sex and Gender.

Sex and gender are different. Sex is the biological makeup(male and female) but gender is psychological (feminine and masculine)

Sex-role stereotypes include males being aggressive and females being gentle.

Androgyny is when someone is equally feminine and masculine.

Bem's Sex-role inventory (SRI).

This is a questionnaire to measure how masculine, feminine or androgynous you are.

It was created by 59 male and 50 female students rating 200 traits as masculine, feminine and neutral.

20 of desirable traits for each were then put into the questionnaire.

over 600 people were given it and asked to rate each trait between    1-7 1 being never and 7 being always.
