Series Circuits
- Resistance= ohms
- Current= amps
- potential difference (voltage)= volts
- THE SAME CURRENT PASSES THROUGH COMPONENTS IN SERIES WITH EACH OTHER.
components: eg bulbs
if the same number of electrons passes through each component every second= the same current passes through as well. There is only 1 pathway the current can follow.
- THE TOTAL POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE OF THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY IN A SERIES CIRCUIT IS SHARED BETWEEN THE COMPONENTS.
the total PD from the cell is basically the voltage of the cell- it is the measure of energy transferred from the cell by each electron that passes through it -->
THAT voltage is then shared between the components eg bulbs…
