Self Fulfilling Prophercy

  • Theory by Robert Merton (1949)

Self-Fullfilling Prophercy: a prediction, that may be false, is made true as a result of an individual's actions.

Heres how it works: (PEP)

1)Prophercy is set- belief or person established

2)Expectation  -person treated according to belief

3)Prophercy is fulfilled-behaviour displayed as a response to treatment
