  • Micro-organisms:
    • What micro-organims are and what they do:
      • They are tiny forms of life
      • They are bacteria, moulds, yeasts
      • There are thousands of different types of each
      • Pathogenic (harmful) micro-organisms spoil food and can cause illness (food poisoning), because they contaminate it with their waste products and toxins (poisons) or just by being in the food
