1. Scientific methods are employed. In this respect:


·         Empirical evidence is gained from observation. "Empirical" means, based upon evidence from the real world [facts that are visible to the senses].


·         Data is collected and collated ("collation" means the way in which data is related to other data).


·         Facts are presented statistically (in essence, this involves the idea that data can be quantified).


·         Experimentation, research and replication are used in an attempt to test /
