For:

  • Science has proved the world works in an ordered way, nature runs using the scientific laws. We can observe these laws and there is repeated evidence for them. Miracles are about the 'non repeatable' which is not as trustworthy or reliable as science. Current miraculous violations are explainable through science with a rationalist approach, they have alternate explanations.
  • Critical comment: As science advances it will discover the explanations/reasons for events that were considered miracles.

Against:

  • There have been documented accounts of Miracles for example the healings that happened at Lourdes.
  • Critical comment: Science may still find an explanation. This is not proof that it broke the laws of nature.
