Wave after Wave

A wave transfers energy from one place to another. There are two types of wave.

1. Transverse 

A transverse wave includes:

Amplitude (A): This is the maximum displacement from the rest position

Wavelength (Lander): This is the distance between 2 adjacent points on a wave that are in phase. (generally in metres).

Frequency (f): THe number of complete cycles per second.  1 cycle per second = 1Hertz

Frequency   f=1/T

                   T=1/f

Periods of Oscillation (T): Time taken to complete one wave (seconds).
