Enzymes are biological catalysts that speen up the rate of chemical reactions in living organisms without being used up themselves. Each enzyme controls a particular reation.
An enzyme is a protein molecule made of a long, folded chain of amino acids. The substrate molecule reacts in the active site. Temperature and pH affect the shape of the active site.
