Conflicts between Science and religion

Genesis presents some problems as it's account of the creation of the universe conflicts with science

• Genesis say's all species there from the start rather than evolving gradually
• Genesis doesn't mention that the universe began with an explosion
• Gives the impression that the earth is today how it was created rather than cooling over millions of years
• It suggests that the earth is young (thousands of years old) rather than an old earth ( billions of years old)
