  • Pigments give paints there coulours:
  • Paint is usually made up of the following: Solvent, binding medium and pigment
  • The binding medium is a liquid that carries the pigment bits and holds them together
  • When the binding medium turns solid this is when it is applied to a surface and makes the pigments stick
  • The solvent within paint allows the binding medium and pigment to still be runny and in liquid form when in the tin or tube
  • Paints are colloids:
  • A colloid is made up of very small particles. One type is mixed in with another, they're not
