Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a type of psychosis characterised by disruption of cognition and emotion.

Positive symptoms appear to reflect an excess of normal functioning.

Negative symptoms appear to reflect a loss of normal functioning.

Speech poverty is the lessening of speech fluency and productivity.

Avolition is the reduction, diificulty, or inability to intitiate and persist in goal-directed behaviour.
