prejudice: Judging someone before actually getting to know them 

discrimination: is acting upon prejudice

stereotyping: having a particular belief/image about people and applying it to everyone in that particular group

Types of prejudice: Gender, profession, origins, language, illness, sexism, country (accent), appearance, hair/skin colour, sexual orientation, religion, age weight, race, etc.

Reasons: Fear, ignorance, stereotyping, upbringing, scapegoating, selfishness, greed, going with crowd, etc.  

Laws in place: 1998 human rights act, 2010 equality act, 2003 employment equality act,1970-2000 edited race relations act, 1995 2004 disability discrimination act, etc
