Law; rules made by parliament and enforceable by the courts.

Justice; allocation of reward and punishment, the matinence of what is right.

Crime; an act against the law.

Anarchy; a situation where law and order have completely broken down and normal life is impossible.


Protection is where you lock a criminal up or take their life; this is to protect the public from them.

Deterrent is where you give out a very harsh punishment to help discourage people from breaking the law. This may be
