Public health: Romans believed in good health systems, providing clean water and removing sewage. They believed illnesses had natural causes, main causes of illness were bad water and sewage. 

Water supplies: A clean water supply was essential for the Romans as it was essential for health, the bought 200 million gallons of fresh water to the city every day.
