Role of the judge on a Criminal and Civil trial

Main role 

• Is to be direct and control trials. 
• Ensure fairness (makes both sides equal)
• Give a eqaul opportunity for both sides to give their case. 

End of a trial 

• Sum up the case to the jury
• Explaining man facts and relevant legal issues
• If D is guilty the judge will decide the appropriate sentence according to tariff and any aggravating and mitigating factors.
