Theft Act 1968

Section 8:

A person is guilty of robbery if he steals, 

R v Dawson [1976] Crim LR 692 à related to nudging a V à not force

Clouden [1987] Crim LR 56 à snatching a handbag from V and that was held to be force

and immediately before or at the time of doing so

R v Hale (1978) 68 Cr App R 415 à in terms of timeframe: before or at the time of the theft 

                                                      à Hale: court said appropriation could be a continuing act
