Resistance and resistivity:
Resistance can be thought of how difficult it is to get a current to flow through the component. The equation is R = V/I, which can be used to define it. Resistance is measured in ohms, symbol Ω.
Three things determine resistance:
- Length (L) - the longer the wire, the more difficult it is to get a current to flow.
