DPI(1) - AIMS AND HYPOTHESIS
Aim: General statement about the purpose of the investigation.
Hypothesis: is a statement, a prediction that can be tested.
Null: There is no relationship between variables.
Alternative/Experimental: There is a relationship between variables.
Directional: Predicts a difference between the variables in a particualr direction.
Non-directional: Predicts a general difference between the variables.
DP1(2) - VARIABLES
Variables: Anything that varies, each value of the variable is a level - experimental conditions are levels.
Experimental variables: IV, DV, EV, CV - When the EV isn't kept constant & changes across conditions.
An experiment aims to control all variables.
Controlling EV: Particpant variables are controlled by the experiment design.
