Interviews: type of self report data that is always carried out face-to-face

• the psychologists directly asks questions to the interviewee 
• often questions are open so that participants can give a more in-depth answer 

structured interviews:

• questions are predetermined
• everyone interviewed has the same set of questions

unstrutured interviews:

• have no set questions
• inteveiwer asks questions based on interviewees answers
