Gender Labelling - Thompson (1975) found out that when asked what their sex was, 76% of two-year-olds could label themselves correctly, whereas 90% of three-year-olds could tell whether they were a boy or a girl. This is evidence that supports Kohlberg's (1966) first stage of Gender Constancy Theory

Gender Stability - Slaby and Frey (1975) asked young children "Were you a little boy, or a little girl, when you were a baby?". They then also asked the children:
