Statistical data:

Official - numerical data collected by the gov, usually through surveys carried out by state agencies such as the ONS. Unofficial - numerical data gathered by non gov sources such as employers, professional bodies and trade unions.

Advantages 

P: this method is extremely cheap and easy to access and are usually up to date. This means that this method is reliable due to the scientific nature and objectiveness of the data.
