Investigate the variables that affect temperature changes in reacting solutions

Method 

1. Set up a pyrex beaker with a polystryene cup inside

2. Add hydrochloric acid to the polystyrene cup and place a thermometer in the cup

3. Take the intial temperature of the acid

4. Add the metal powder and stir

5. Record the highest temperature the reaction reaches using the thermometer 

7. Calculate the temperature change for the reaction
