Representation of sexuality in the media

Heterosexuality is the main sexuality represented in the media. It is considered the 'normal view' of sexuality. 
Women have historically been portrayed as sexual objects. But men are now also being portrayed in this way. 

The metrosexual man - Heterosexual men who embrace their feminine side. 
Some men may adopt what is considered a 'gay lifestyle' through their habits which are normally associated with gay men.

The media view of homosexuality is created through the view of a heterosexual. 
This is because the media is owned by a select few people, these consist of white heterosexual men. 

Gay people have often been misrepresented by the media or overly represented in the stereotypical way.
