Religious language Conclusion

?

Religious language is seen as an expression of our psychology, an example of this would be Jung's theory of Archetypes and how we project our ideal of a perfect father onto God. This disagrees with the statement as it suggest we so have some meaning in a symbolic way; D.Burrell stated ‘Analogies are proportionally similarities which also acknowledge dissimilar features’ This links with Aquinas’ view of religious language as he believed that analogical language is best when discussing religious language as it acknowledges God’s ‘other-worldliness’ as well as acknowledging God’s know-ability. Aquinas believed that we should use analogies
