Most thinkers define faith in terms of some mixture of an action of the will and trust and belief in a body of truths expressed in statements or propositions

• Aquinas viewed the Christian faith as rational, in that it could be supported and explored by reason
• He did not think that reason alone could discover its truths and insights - divine revelation was also required
