RELIGIOUS MARKET THEORY (RATIONAL CHOICE THEORY) STARK AND BAINBRIDGE-
-they see secularisation theory as eurocentric..focuses on the decline of religion in the UK and ignores how it might be vital in america and other places. Secularisation has a distorted view of the past and the future.
-STARK AND BAINBRIDGE say there was no golden age of religion. And we cannot predict the end of religion
-They put forward a religious market theory where by it is based on two assumptions-
1) people are naturally religious. Religion meets humans needs hence why there is a constant demand for religion. There may be a demand for a particular religion
2) it is human nature to seek rewards…
