Reliability - Consistentcy

Reliability - It represent the extent we can depend upon a measure and the ability of the test to produce consistent findings. A reliable test should be carried out in the same circumstances with the same ppts and it should give the same results. 

  • Internal Validity - Truth
    • How costistent the test is itself - different part of the test should give consistent results
    • Consistency across measures in the same test
    • Split- Half Method
    • The test is split into half and the results from the two halves should produce a high positive correlation
  • External Validity - Generalisability
    • Ability to replicate a study on other ocassions - producing consistent results whenever
