RADIO

Radios first appeared in Britain homes in the early 1920s and became a popular form of entertainment. They were mass produced, which made them affordable and information and entertainment could be enjoyed at home. BBC started broadcasting in 19 22 and relied on fundings. The first sport match broadcasted was the FA Cup Final in 1927, Cardiff victory over Arsenal. Football commentators used numbered codes to inform what pitch action was happening. An historic moment that happened on radio is the war declaration in 1939 made by Chamberlain. During the war, radio informed the population on events, as well as maintained morale.
