Advantages:

• They are systematic and standardised. They are easy to compare data from large numbers of participants because they are asked the same question. 
• They tend to collect quantative data which is easy to analyse using quick and objective statistical procedures.
• Lack of interpretation means that questionnaires produce valid findings. Lack of interviewer means it can't lead to the interviewer effect.
