Probability corresponds to relative frequency
Relative frequency = Frequency/N
Skewness - deviation from symmetry (same shape on both sides of centre)
Describing skewed data:
- If data are skewed - presnet meadian in prefernece to mean
- If data are not skewed - present mean in preference to median
Modality - number of major peaks in a distribution
Kurtosis - peakedness of a distribution
Normal Distributions
Key Features:
- symmetrical around the mean
- mean =meadian
- more observations closer to the mean
- fewer observations as distance from mean increases
- lines does not touvh the x axis
