Punishments used in the Norman times.

  • Under Norman leadership the use of the death penelty increased. This occured as it as the only way to sight fear into the Anglo-saxons of whom were rebelling against the Normans when they first invaded. This change had a significant impact on  the Anglo- Saxons (British people) because it meant villagers were murdered for petty crimes such as theft. As a result of this increase rebelions minimilized and the british people began to fear the consequences eventhough they deeply hated there leader.
  • Capital punishment was also vastly used under Norman leadership in order to avoid the stocks and fines used to puinish minor crimes. This again…
