Psychology : Behavioural Approach - Skinner Box (1938)
Method:
- Skinner created the 'Skinner Box', in which rats were placed in, one at a time.
- Each 'Skinner Box' contained a variety of different stimuli.
- E.g. a speaker, lights, a floor which could give an electric shock and a dispenser which would give food at the push of a lever.
- A hungry rat would be placed into the box and the time it took to learn that the lever would give food was recorded.
