Psychological and Biological methods of stress management:

Stress Inoculation Training- A form of cognitive restructuring. It aims to alter the way that people think about themselves. This method involves three stages:

  • Conceptualisation- The client is taught to view perceived threats as problems to be solved.
  • Skills training & practice- Coping skills are taught and are practised in the clinic, eg, positive thinking.
  • Real life application- Clients have the chance to apply the skills they have learnt in real life situations.Booster sessions are offered.
