INITIATION - ROLE OF GENES

Pathological gambling can run in families. It's possible both genes and enviromental factors contribute.

SHAS et al (2005) - A twin study found evidence for genetic transmission of gambling in men.

BLACK et al (2006) - 1st degree relatives more likely to suffer the same condition than other family members. (strong genetic link)
