The mean ratings showed that participants feared rats more than any othre animal. Questioning later revealed that rats were pecieved as potentially more harmful, unlike other animals. An analysis of sex differences showed that females rated themselves less likelt to approach an animal than males, similar results were found on fear ratings, however, there is no sex differences in ratings of ugliness, sliminess and suddeness of movement.
