- DNA replication ----Transcription----> MRNA ----Translation----> Protein
Organelles involved:
- Nucleus - Contains DNA
- Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum and Ribosomes - Makes the protein
- Golgi Apparatus - Folds and finishes the protein
- Plasma Membrane - Allows secretion
- Mitochondria - Produces ATP in order to move the vesicle along the cytoskeleton
- Cytoskeleton - Allows the vesicles to be moved around
Steps:
- DNA cannot leave the nucleus due to its size.
- The DNA is replicated.
- Transcription makes the DNA copy into MRNA.
