How proteins are made

• a section of DNA that codes for a particular protein is called a gene.
• Proteins are made up of chains of molecules called amino acids, each proteins amino acids vary in number and order.
• Each protein, therefore, has a different shape, and each has a different function.
• Each amino acid is coded for by three bases, this is called a triplet code.
