Different businesses will use different production methods in order to keep low costs and high output. Its vital that businesses operate efficiently, producing as much as they can while spending as little as possible, in order to make high profits. Because of this, businesses have to choose production methods that are most suited to their product. 

Job production is the production of one-off items that can be made based upon the customers requests (eg tailor made clothing and specialist cakes). This method of production is often used by businesses that offer specialised services. Job production is cheap and easy to set up, but is an expensive and time consuming method of production.


-Unique, high quality products are made

-Workers are often more motivated and take pride in their work

-Businesses can charge more for the product


-Can be very labour intensive
